November 10, 2016 Meeting with UNC-Charlotte

Topic: University Point Boulevard Project

Summary:

• After receiving funding through the 2014 bond program the University Pointe Boulevard project was accelerated to get approved bid plans in six months. 
• The project was awarded to Blythe Construction who started construction in December 2015 and are currently 70% complete. 
• This project demonstrates how the City of Charlotte, stakeholders, the contractor, and WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff have been able to deliver a successful project in a constrained timeframe.

David Gourley, P.E. is the Civil Engineering Manager in Charlotte for WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff.  He has been with WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff since 2001.  David received his BSCE degree from Old Dominion University, is a member of ASCE, and is a licensed Professional Engineer. David has worked on numerous projects throughout the state including multiple design-build projects and municipal projects throughout the Charlotte region.
